Wahey...

Today I travelled down to London as I had my interview for Westminster Uni. I applied to study Mixed Media Fine Art.

Well...the eager beaver that I am..I got there like half an hour early. However, I wasn't interviewed until 3.15...lol. So yeah I had been waiting there for about an hour! I think it went well though *fingers crossed*.

I really want to go there because it was the only uni out of Cardiff, Surrey Inst and Lincoln which appealed to me. I feel that I would benefit from the course structure - it incorporates a work placement and a launchpad module which is definately needed within the arts industry!

Back to the interview..well it was more like an informal chat...but I was really nervous at the start...then I kinda flowed frm there! Yeah so I basically explained the background of the work in my portfolio and the sketchbooks. I felt that he was genuinely interested in my work which is a good sign? hehe...but he was also helpful. As he gave me a few artists to look at for my Final Major Project(FMP). But overall who knows..hehe I'll be checkin my UCAS at the end of next week now...

Other than that...didn't really go 'round London...I couldn't with a portfolio bigger than myself and blowing me away...hehe. So hopped back on a train home...actually I was quite tired when I got back....

Was tlkn to my sis today who has finally handed in her dissertation!!! So not too much stressin now except for her exams...she's coming home tomorrow anyway so I'm sure she'll fill me in! haha

Oh yeah..hopefully on Sunday I'll be back to London..woo hoo..lol..yeah so gonna meet a friend from Summer School India who is completing an volunteer exchange placement here. Aww...I spoke to him today and it was soooo weird hearing his voice after like 7 months..wow...I'm really looking forward to that...plus we are hoping to check out an exhibition..about Chenobyl which should be really interesting!

Hmm...well yesterday was also tiring as I went into Bham to get some art materials...then Solihull and then Shirley..spent more money than I wanted but I got everything I needed for my FMP..oops.lol..but yeah I'm startin over a new sketch/ref/notebook...yeah I'm seriously gonna work my butt off now for the next 7 weeks...scary though then I'm done for the summer...

Tomorrow I plan on sorting out a ***NEW*** sketchbook..erm..and also well getting everything into order and the boxes. That is my aim for the end of this week. OMG!...I only have 3 weeks to come up with a final piece...which I need to discuss with Terry...hmmm...yeah

Well I'm just gonna sort my mail out on here then maybe do some work..lol to be honest I just feel like schleeeeping! haha!

Heyy di doo dah...

What's been happenin with moi today?

Well managed to get outta bed and go to college...got there for 10am...daydreamed for about a half hour...oops..and then finally got down to my work...well actually gave back my library books I had finished with (+ to avoid fines!)...hmm...then went back to the room and decided to sort out my note/ref book...lol come to think of it..wasnt very productive I was cutting up all the photocopies...until I had a brainwave...to start a new note/ref book...I'm obsessed with making sure everything in my book is in order for this project...so I might start over....I'm crazy I know!

Oh yeah I met up with Laura today at lunch along with Mars...great to see her...she is sooo sweet...she had an interview at Falmouth which sounds awesome...rite beside the beach! I was asking her what they asked her as I'm really nervous about my interview on Thurs...aah...hehe.

On that note, I need to double check my portfolio and include my sketchbooks and some pieces of written English.

Oooh..lol I know I keep switchin topics...but yesterday..mmm...outside my building as it's near Cadbury's World in Bournville it smelt of chocolate...was really yummy..lol

Anyways back to today...yeah was a weird and funny day..after lunch Terry decided to come and have a chat about my work..lol...he was like why have you come in so late..this was at 1pm..I said I've been in sine 10am!...It was funny the grp were laughing tellin him that I have been sitting here all along....I was like what a dopey mare...hehe...bless him...he is so out of it sometimes...nah..most of the time!

I stayed til 2pm today which has to have be the longest I have worked til..lol...hmm I dont think I did work today..I had a really long chat with Jas after lunch as well about uni, interviews, asian culture(very interesting - quite similar beliefs , etc) plus it was jus great having a laugh...hopefully she will be going to Cardiff!

Now the weird n kinda scary part...I listed my brother's xbox on amazon (lol dont ask - he's become really mature all of sudden since his SATs are drawing near and says he won't have anytime to play on it now due to GCSE's too..haha)...yeah so this guy emails me...saying post this item to Nigeria..and that the payment is in your account. Immediately I thought..SCAMMER! Another thing that gave it away was the sender email address (amazon@myway.com) and I know amazon doesn't send mail from an addy like that...so emailed the scammer back and told him I wasn't stupid!

As the Xbox is also listed on ebay(dont worry im not an ebay addict.....yet!lol)...this time I got a story from a mother tellin me she wanted to send the item to her son asap...she was like send me all your bank details..EVERYTHING and I will transfer the money...haha yeah right..emailed her back too..lol..Scary, yeah!

Ooooohhhh...jus listening to I believe in a thing called love by Lemar....hmmm....I love his voice...it so beautiful......mmmmmmmmm...hehe...yeh kewl

Lol..I couldnt think of a subject..so kinda went craazy on the art!

Yeah my room is more like a gallery/really messy art studio...lol

I'm gonna clean a it a bit in a mo..back to coll 2moro.

Gotta write up my plan for tomorrow because I really don;t want to waste the day..plus I only have if Im being realistic a month left...aaah...to come up with a final piece and I want to get a lot of stuff done this week..minus thurs coz i'll be in london!

But yeah this a pic of the 50% completed boxes...stuck onto my room wall...hence the gallery comment. I'm really diggin the 3D work but it is not a strong point of mine so I will have to tlk to Terry and see whether he is diggin it....

The thing about Terry is that he is way contradictory and it can be very annoying..he'll love it one day and the next he'll say change it...grr..hehe but he knows what im like..so its kinda alrite i guess!

Heyyyyey! (random i know!)

Well I thought I'd post on my blog today b/c it has a kinda productive day and I'm happy with the progress of my art project so far...

I contructed the 8 boxes n then " brainwave " (hehe), I thought of using african fabric (actually its kinda hard to explain...I'll post a pic up on here at the end of the week!) I got that finished just now...and I have to photocopy some text and images onto acetate tomorrow and wrk them into the boxes...

I'm really diggin the boxes although it is part of experimentation. My final 'piece' is meant to be a series of mixed media panels...i was thinking like stretched fabric over a frame n wrkn into it....but yeah i like 3d work..that's somethng i'll have to discuss with my tutor..

Oh yeah...Umar(cousin frm usa) sent me new pics of his new bro Ehsan..(my new cousin..lol) awww....isn't he a cutie? He is soooooo gorgeous...cant wait to see him this summer...I was jus tlkn to Umar's other bro, Amir (it's prolly gettin confusin now)..but it was good tlkn to him..so sweet..he is really excited about coming over to the uk coz he loves heathrow airport!hehe....and he was tellin me to start a card making business...sweet!

Lol...im sooooooooooooooooooo knackered!

I've spent most of the day sitting on my bedroom floor constructing cardboard boxes..since 11am and its now 10pm. Lol I had to keep gettin up every hour..my bum kept gettin numb and my legs were gettin pins and needles...ouch!!

At the mo I'm experimenting with 3d..ive finally finished the 8 boxes which are somehow gonna represent the mdgs...hmmmm...I should have really finished experimentation on sunday...but running behind plus had sum new ideas so been working on them...

I really cant wait to experiment with the african fabric i bought. I have jotted down some targets that I need to complete by Monday...so I can go into coll and know exactly what I'm doing.

Anywayz gotta rush...

I'm gonna clear up my room n finish the boxes completely.
